Sherborne Qatar students enchant MoQ audience with musical performances Nov 13, 2019 0 781 12345 Tribune News NetworkDohaMusical performances by Sherborne Qatar school students and international artistes mesmerised the audience at the Mall of Qatar (MoQ) recently.The event, organised by the MoQ in cooperation with Sherborne Qatar as part of ‘Qatar’s Best Talents Season 3’ programme, featured the Prep musical theatre, singers and musicians from Sherborne Qatar, including the Prep and Senior choirs, the Senior string ensemble, the Senior music band and a special performance by Lily and Linda. The programme, held at the Oasis stage in the mall, also featured international artistes Haydee Soul (Cuba), Andrew Larin (Ukraine), Basil Adam (Syria), Sam Arts (Netherlands), Becki Wolfe (England) and Razwan Bobby Sarwar (England). Lucy Hancock, marketing and events specialist at the MoQ, said, “I’m super impressed by the fantastic performances by the students. It was fantastic working with you and we look forward to many more performances and collaborations in the future.”Sarwar, head of music at Sherborne Qatar, was also impressed by the professionalism shown by the pupils aged 6 to 16 years. The event opened with the Sherborne theatre group performing ‘Arabian Nights’ from the movie ‘Aladdin’. This followed with Prep and Senior musicians performing the violin, piano and harp. The Senior string ensemble performed a classical composition and concluded with two little angles, Lily and Linda singing ‘Shallow’ by Lady Gaga.The second half opened with the Senior band performing a Stevie Wonder medley and Sir Duke. The event concluded with the Prep and Senior choirs singing a Qatari song, a Bollywood song and a song by Gary Barlow called ‘Sing’.
