Shura Council Speaker HE Ahmed bin Abdulla bin Zaid al Mahmoud on Monday met ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Qatar in preparations for the convening of the 7th Global Organization of Parliamentarians Against Corruption (GOPAC) Global Conference, which will be held in Doha on December 9-10. Parliamentarians from 106 countries and 63 national branches around the world will take part in the event. Mahmoud said Qatar’s hosting of this important international conference comes out of its belief in the need to work hard to combat the scourge of corruption in the world because it represents a grave danger to the future of nations and their progress.
