With an aim to train the trainers, the Pakistan Arts Society-Qatar (PAS-Q), in association with Pak Shamaa School, recently organised a teachers training workshop, ‘Teachers’ strategy for gaining and sustaining attention of students’.
The keynote speaker on the occasion was Malik Nasir Nawaz, a well-known international inspirational trainer and motivational speaker. The interactive training session, according to the Pak Shamaa faculty members, helped them to build a positive attitude towards students and motivated them to achieve high results through different techniques.
The lecture by Nawaz, who is the CEO of MN Learning Solutions (MNLS) and comes with more than 20 years of human resource experience, was not only enlightening but also helped the participants to rediscover themselves.
Nawaz, a renowned corporate trainer, is highly proficient in developing, assessing, and delivering training solutions encompassing a wide range of corporate requirements and needs across all levels of staff while leveraging expertise in didactic, activities/role-plays and other delivery media to optimise trainee comprehension and retention.
Nawaz has designed
numerous performance-oriented, customised training sessions that include Work Life Balance, Stress Management, Time Management, Selling Edge, Negotiation Skills, Team Building, Train the Teacher, Communication Skills and other Influencing Skills at work.
The articulation tips provided by Nawaz were helpful in stimulating interest in learning and teaching. Motivation, he noted, plays a key role in attracting the attention of students.
He explained different learning styles and teaching methodologies and stressed that students should be taught with love and affection. The students, he said, learn best when they practically do something.
Nawaz, who recently moved to Qatar, underlined the significance of encouragement and appreciation as these are the key factors in developing confidence and enhancing the learning process. He said parents shouldn’t impose their ideas and ambitions on their wards and should rather allow them to take their decisions freely.
Highlighting the qualities of a good teacher, Nawaz said that informal ways of teaching could greatly help in achieving better results.
Earlier, PAS-Q Vice President Taher Dilawar Hussain welcomed the guests and extended gratitude to Malik Nasir Nawaz, Pak Shamaa School management, participants of the session and General Manager of Qatar International Nursery Abdul Rauf Rashid.
General Secretary Adeel Akbar, who conducted the programme, noted that such sessions greatly inspire the participants. He expressed his determination to hold similar events in future as well.
PAS-Q Chairman M A Shahid and Vice President Taher Dilawar Hussain presented bouquets to Nawaz. Pak Shamaa School teacher Aimen Zeb introduced the key speaker to the guests. Prominent among those who attended the event were Mala Waseem, a visual artist and art teacher, Rana Anwar Ali, ex-chairman of Sohni Dharti Forum, Furqan Ahmad Paracha, general secretary of Pak Bazm-e-Ahbab, Aamir Saeed Khan, CEO of Business Partners Forum, Shabbir Siddiqui, future leader coordinator of Sohni Dharti and Jamal Uddin Haider, former house keeping manager of Mercure Grand Hotel.
Speaking to Qatar Tribune,Nawaz thanked the PAS-Q for inviting him to share his knowledge and experience for the benefit of the Pakistani community and teachers.
Nawaz said his company plans to facilitate the business sector by providing practical, interactive, fun-filled and activity-based training through workshops and seminars.
Nawaz has spent most of his life in the US starting his professional career with the Bank of America in the US. Later, he worked in different financial institutions before joining Toyota Capital Motors as General Manager Sales in Pakistan in 1996. He remained associated with hospitality industry in Pakistan for14 years in different capacities. He is a core member of Industry Advisory Group of National Vocational and Technical Education Commission Pakistan (NAVTEC).While in Pakistan, he provided training to different companies, mainly in the hospitality sector. He visited different countries to train executive managers while working with a well-known chain of five star hotels.
“I am among the few civilians who have trained the personnel of the Pakistan Army in different areas. Later in 2014, I decided to form my own company. I started offering programmes such as leadership skills, stress management, leader-versus-manager, communication skills, work-life balance, team building and basics of customer services. The difference between me and a typical training company is that I customise the training courses accordingly. I interact with the top executive of a company about what they actually want and then I customise the course,” noted Nawaz.
His company also provides career development training. “The objective of our training sessions for career development is to fill the gap between corporate world and fresh graduates. As an exclusive feature of our training, we offer career development support starting from creating an employable resume to successful interview that makes the candidates ready to achieve the required results by the employers,” added Nawaz.
