TEN big French companies, including European leader in cyber-security Thales and Qatar-France joint venture RKH Qitarat will be showcasing their innovative and smart solutions during the Qatar Information Technology Conference & Exhibition (QITCOM) 2019. The expo will be held at the Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC) from October 29 to November 1, under the theme of ‘Safe Smart Cities’.
At a press conference held on Monday, French Ambassador to Qatar HE Franck Gellet and Business France, the national agency dedicated to promote French economy, announced the strong participation of French tech companies as ‘La French Tech’ in the event.
The French participating firms specialise in fields such as e-government, cyber-security, fintech, blockchain, smart cities, IoT, e-health, e-commerce and retailtech.
Aside from big companies, the French pavilion will also feature exciting startups.
Ambassador Gellet said that Qatar is an important commercial partner of France, adding “Our relations are not just about business, it is really a close relationship.”
“As for QITCOM, what is important is that our participation reflects our understanding of what Qatar aims at in terms of being more autonomous and diversified and more in control. QITCOM is about opportunity for visitors and participants from all around the world to gather and to discuss the new technologies and solutions that are revolutionalising our lives”, the envoy added.
France is witnessing strong growth in its technological space as a result of investments by domestic players, as well as the high interest of foreign investors.
“It is a great honour to participate in QITCOM 2019 as a committed partner. It is an exciting year for La French Tech and we look forward to introducing our companies with revolutionary new ideas to potential investors visiting, while our highly regarded companies look to meet new partners as part of their business expansion”, said Gellet.
Silver sponsor Thales will present innovative and smart solutions such as: SOARIZON, a digital platform that will empower drone operation worldwide; unmanned traffic management solutions; intelligent multimodal system for smart and safe mobility with efficient transport and NAIA: a big data analytics platform aiming at reconstructing the commuters’ journeys. Other French companies are Atos which will present its cloud solutions and services, and Alstom, a world leader in integrated transport systems.
Also joining are French SMEs such as H4D, a fully connected and interactive medical cabin system, Flowbird, a world leading company for urban mobility, Onepoint, one of the major players in business and digital transformation, Fime, specialist of fintech, as well as Gaussin, offering a range of electric driverless transporters.
