The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) has penalised 10 food establishments in different areas of Doha for storing or preparing foodstuffs in unsanitary conditions.
In a statement on Monday, the MME said the violations were detected during a single inspection campaign carried out by the Doha Municipality’s Health Control Section on Sunday.
The inspectors found a cafeteria and a supermarket in Madinat Khalifa South and Bin Mahmoud areas storing foodstuffs inside the workers’ housing in unsanitary conditions and away from the eyes of the inspectors. The violations were immediately removed and violation reports were issued in accordance with Law No. 8 of 1990 on the regulation of human food control.
Six restaurants, a bakery and a cafeteria in different areas of Doha were also found to be preparing foodstuffs in unsanitary conditions.
The violation reports were issued to them in accordance with law on the regulation of human food control.
