Doha: The Cabinet on Wednesday reviewed views of some ministries and government bodies on Shura Council recommendations to develop the Sealine area in Mesaieed to reduce traffic accidents. The Cabinet then took appropriate decision on them. Chaired by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al Thani, the weekly regular meeting also approved a draft Amiri Decision on setting up the Ras Laffan Emergency and Safety College. Under the provisions of the draft decision, the college would be set up as a military body for academic and technical education. It would be affiliated with the Ministry of Interior and would draw from its budget. The college would be established to prepare technical cadres trained scientifically and practically in fire-fighting and emergency search and rescue operations. It also aims to prepare qualified graduates in the fields of engineering, security, safety and disaster and crisis management. (QNA)
