Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) on Tuesday organised an awareness workshop to introduce its services and procedures to consultants.
Director of Planning and Quality Department at Kahramaa Eng Ibrahim Mohammed al Emadi said the workshops organised by Kahramaa for contractors and accredited consultancy offices aim to raise the efficiency of the companies implementing its projects and address any problems they may face.
He said the discussions would identify the main challenges facing contractors and consultants in order to resolve them and take appropriate measures to develop the mechanism of work.
Emadi noted that Kahramaa does not intentionally prohibit companies but rather seeks to develop them sufficiently so they can continue to work well. He added that Kahramaa’s team works in joint committees with consultants to develop services and raise efficiency.
On his part, Head of Wirings Section at the Customer Services Department Eng Mohammed Ali Hashem said Kahramaa receives enquiries and proposals of contractors and consultants through various means and organises workshops periodically to address any difficulties they may face and guide on correct ways to deliver services and complete transactions in the ways specified by the institution.
He said Kahramaa approved up to 120 consultancy offices.
Eng Afaf Omar al Shirawi, senior engineer of permits services at Kahramaa Customer Services Department, said the workshop targets the consultancy offices accredited to the State which are working on electricity projects in order to clarify how to issue the building permit and the impact of this on electricity and water services.
She urged the consultants to adhere to the loads specified in the infrastructure areas of the citizens’ housing projects in order to expedite the issuance of licences and deliver the services.
