A total of 662 elderly patients received home healthcare services by the end of August, while 6,900 home visits were conducted during the month, Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has revealed.
Primary Health Care Corporation celebrated International Day of Older Persons through the Home Health Care Department and the Muaither Health Center with the aim to promote intergenerational cohesion and use global events to instil ethical values through social and health practices directed at various segments of society to deal properly with older persons.
During the ceremony, educational lectures were given in various health fields through home health care physicians.
Assistant Director of Continuous Care at PHCC Dr Badriya al Malki said the celebration comes in response to the opportunities and challenges facing aging in the 21st century and in line with the National Health Strategy.
Director of Home Health Care Department at PHCC Dr Ashraf Helmy said services will soon cover all health centres.
