Qatar Museums (QM) held its annual Teacher’s Council meeting for teachers to inform them about QM’s upcoming educational programmes and exhibitions for 2019.
Held at the National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ), the event gathered a large number of school representatives and teachers who were introduced to QM’s vision of creating a strong museum education sector in the country.
Through a series of presentations, QM representatives from National Museum of Qatar, Museum of Islamic Arts (MIA), 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, Children’s Museum Project, Cultural Heritage Division, Department of Education, Exhibitions Department, and Events Department introduced educational resources and initiatives that can be integrated into the school curriculums currently being taught across Qatar’s schools.
Following the session, NMoQ museum guides gave participants an exclusive tour of the National Museum of Qatar galleries.
The event was also an opportunity for teachers to find out about new exhibitions, school programmes, teacher training, professional development programmes and learning resources available to them for the 2019-2020 academic year.
At the event, the teachers were able to network with their colleagues, museum educators and other professionals and to form long-lasting partnership with QM museums and cultural heritage professionals.
