Pakistan International School Qatar (PIS-Q)
organised a lecture titled ‘The Value of Historical Research’ for its senior students.
The session was conducted by educationist and associate professor of history Dr Muhammad Reza Pirbhai.
Pirbhai, who teaches at George Town University in Qatar, discussed the importance of history as a subject and its effect on present developments. He laid emphasis on the role of the common man in history and the positive and constructive role of individual in the society. He stressed that critical thinking, communication and decision-making skills are key to attaining success in life.
Pirbhai is the author of several books such as ‘Fatima Jinnah - Mother of Nation’ and ‘Reconsidering Islam in a South Asian Context’. He has published several encyclopedia articles and reviews. An expert in professional development, he conducts research and introduces educational interventions to help and support more personalized learning experiences for creating partnership between educators and digital learners and tailoring the educational skills for the workplaces of the future.
The students showed great interest in the question-answer conducted at the end of the session. PISQ Principal Nargis Raza Otho thanked Pirbhai for giving an informative lecture. The session was organised by the school management to provide the students with the opportunity to get information about the value of historical research.
