The Youth Wing of All Pakistanis Overseas Organization (ApooWorld) Qatar Chapter hosted a reception in honour of visiting Pakistani students who have been awarded full scholarship by the Chinese government.
The scholarships are awarded annually by Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC). There are 272 Chinese universities that offer scholarships to international students.
The students, Ahsan Nawaz Klasra, Nadia Ahmed Ali, Shauqat Alyani and Hafiz Muhammad Zahid, were travelling by Qatar Airways and stopped in Doha for a few hours before heading for China.
ApooWorld Chairman Zahid Sheikh, ApooWorld Sports Secretary Haroon Rashid Qureshi, Acting President of ApooWorld Qatar Chapter Iftikhar uddin Choudhary, President of ApooWorld Poland Chapter Mehmood Ahmed, Joint Secretary Nadeem Chaudhary, Community Welfare Coordinator Sajjad Ahmed Mushtaq, Youth Wing Coordinator Aqeb Yahya and Chairman of Majlis Froghe Urdu Adab Mohammad Atiq attended the reception held at Edem Lounge.
Earlier, the students were taken for city tour under the supervision of Yahya.
Speaking to Qatar Tribune, Klasra thanked ApooWorld Qatar Chapter and the China Chapter for arranging their visit to Qatar. He said the students were amazed to see the development taking place in Qatar.
Describing how these students were granted scholarships in the prestigious universities, Klasra said, “We are greatly indebted to President of ApooWorld China Chapter Hasnain Agha Naqvi, who helped us in securing scholarships in China’s top-ranking universities. He provided a platform to the students through Facebook and WeChat to help them to seek scholarships.”
More than 200 Pakistani students have secured 100 percent scholarships in China with the help of Naqvi.
Klasra will be pursuing Ph.D in Construction Project Management at Zhejiang University which is at 54th place in QS World University Ranking and is counted among the top 20 universities in Asia. He has a master’s degree in Project Management and bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. He hails from District Layyah in Pakistan.
Nadia has secured CSC doctoral seat in Zhejiang University majoring in Crop Breeding and Genetics. She hails from Okara and holds a master’s degree from the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad. 
Alyani belongs to D G Khan. He secured CSC doctoral seat in Anhui Agriculture University, majoring in Agriculture Sciences.
Zahid secured the scholarship for Guangzhou University. He holds Civil Engineering degree from University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore.
