THE Cabinet, at its weekly meeting chaired by Prime Minister HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al Thani at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday, approved a number of agreements between the State of Qatar and four different countries.
The Cabinet gave its approval for the draft agreement on the abolition of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and special passports between Qatar and the Republic of Tajikistan; a draft air services agreement between Qatar and the Republic of Serbia; a draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation in the field of meteorology between Qatar and the Republic of Korea; and the first executive’s draft programme in the field of higher education and academic research for the educational, scientific and cultural cooperation agreement between Qatar and Romania for the academic years (2019/2020-2020/2021-2021/2022).
The Cabinet then reviewed the draft law amending some provisions of the Penal Code promulgated by Law No 11 of 2004 and the results of the study to determine appropriateness of the provisions of Law No 5 of 2015 on commercial, industrial and similar public shops and street vendors.
The Cabinet also reviewed the sixth report on the results of the work of the National Committee for Civil Aviation Security during the period from 1/1 to 30/6/2019.
The competencies of this committee which was established by the General Authority of Civil Aviation are to develop general policies related to the security of civil aviation, determine procedures and issue the necessary instructions to protect civil aviation operations from acts of unlawful interference.
The Cabinet also reviewed the results of the 72nd session of the World Health Assembly.
The Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs HE Dr Issa bin Saad al Jafalial Nuaimi stated the agenda and decisions of the meeting.
