AFTER successfully raising QR1 million for Education Above All (EAA), Carrefour in Qatar on Monday launched a new fundraising campaign aimed at increasing access to education for impoverished children across the country. During the Back-to-School season from August 28 to September 10, Carrefour will match the amount donated by customers at cash counters, thereby doubling their impact. For example, if a customer donates QR10, Carrefour will donate QR10 as well, with all proceeds going towards EAA.
Laurent Hausknecht, country head of Carrefour Qatar, said, “We have committed to helping transform the lives of the less fortunate children in our community by offering them access to quality education. Our previous campaign was a huge success owing to the unwavering support of our loyal customers, and we aim to build on this new initiative so that together we can create great moments for children most in need of them.”
Moza al Mansouri, fundraising and partnerships specialist of Education Above All (EAA) Foundation, said, ”Every contribution to EAA’s educational projects and programmes creates tangible impact in the communities that these projects operate and serve. Our main purpose is to assist and provide marginalised and impoverished children with access to quality education. We would like to thank the Carrefour team for their support through this campaign in backing our efforts in helping children access opportunity for a better future.”
