IKEA, the Swedish furniture giant, launched on Wednesday its all-new 2020 catalogue at an event held at its store at Doha Festival City.
Speaking on the occasion, Aelxey Sitkin, store manager, said that IKEA has come up with innovative solutions with distinct look and features focusing on sleep to improve the quality of life.
He said that with different personalities and preferences in Qatar, IKEA is keen to offer better solutions. Following research, IKEA worked with a perfumer to create a scent inspired by the feeling of freshness to tie in with the launch of its new 2020 catalogue.
Sitkin said the 2020 catalogue gives the feeling of the four seasons -- autumn, winter, spring and summer. “Autumn is about a fresh start as coming back from the holidays, people resume their jobs and children begin their new year in school while winter is all about celebrations and joy and transforming the home. Spring encourages people to have a conscious home with innovative IKEA products repurposed, repaired, reused, resold and recycled whereas summer looks at expanded homes and having fun with the great outdoors.
He said that increase in population and the government policies will have a positive impact on the business sector. He added that there will be no increase in prices until July 2020.
Iyad Hudaib, marketing manager, said that IKEA has designed and showcased six different homes for people of different backgrounds and markets. Each of these homes showcase solutions and illustrate five emotional needs - belonging, ownership, comfort, security and privacy.
