National test system in public schools will be replaced by standardised achievement tests in order to measure the level of academic achievement of school students, and will be carried out within the curriculum designed for the second semester at the end of the third, sixth and ninth levels. Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Mohammed bin Abdul Wahed al Hammadi on Tuesday issued a ministerial decision in this regard. Under the ministerial decision, the Student Assessment Office at the ministry is tasked with overseeing the organisation of standardised achievement tests, and exam preparation committees shall be formed by a decision from the Undersecretary of the Ministry, and its membership comprises representatives from the student assessment and educational guidance offices and schools.
