Pakistan Bikers Association (PBA) organised a function to mark Pakistan’s Independence Day, at Qatar Sports Club (QSC).
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Qatar HE Syed Ahsan Raza Shah was the chief guest on the occasion, while Community Welfare Attache’ Hafiz Junaid Amir Sial attended the event along with other community members.
Prominent among those who attended the event were PBA President Omran A Mughal, Suliaman A Mughal, Shahid Majeed, Abdullah Minhas, Adeel A Mughal and Saud A Mughal. The group regularly participates in local sport events as well as National Day celebrations of Qatar and Pakistan.
The event started with the arrival of 20 bikes and 15 cars, all painted in green and white representing Pakistan’s national flag, at the QSC. The convoy of the bikers came together and was received with the beats of traditional Punjabi drum (dhol). The participants danced to the tune of the drum beats.
National anthems of Pakistan and Qatar were played on the occasion. Community representatives highlighted the significance of the Independence Day in their speeches and a cake was cut to mark the occasion. The event continued for more than two hours and the people were treated with delicious Pakistani snacks.
Speaking on the occasion, Pakistan’s Ambassador Syed Ahsan Raza Shah appreciated the enthusiasm exhibited by the young Pakistani expatriates on the occasion, and also praised the efforts of youth in the development of Pakistan. “Youth are the asset of any nation and play a vital role in the progress of their country. Pakistani youths living in Qatar have contributed immensely in bringing good name to their country,” said the envoy.
The ambassador further highlighted the role played by young workers in different parts of the world, especially in Qatar. “The embassy will continue with its efforts to create better working opportunities for young workers. If a Pakistani has the talent of any sort, he or she should come forward and contact the embassy. We’ll do our utmost and provide proper opportunity to such people to further nourish their talents,” said the ambassador.
