The meetings held by the Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani with US officials and members of the senate have confirmed the strength of relations between Qatar and the US, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al Thani has affirmed.
He said these meetings are also a testimony to the fact that Qatar is a credible strategic ally of the US in the region.
“Productive and constructive meetings held by the Amir with a number of committees, senators and officials in Washington. (The meetings) underlined the strength of Qatar-US bilateral relations and Qatar’s role as a trusted strategic ally in the region,” the FM said in a tweet.
He also revealed the issues discussed by the Amir with US officials.
“The 2022 World Cup, GCC crisis and critical regional issues including Sudan, Libya, and Afghanistan were top topics discussed during Amir’s meetings with a number of government officials. We will continue our close cooperation to maintain peace and stability,” the FM said.
