Getit Group recently inaugurated its first retail mart and fulfilment centre in Qatar at GWC Busulba Warehousing Park.
The opening ceremony was attended by several distinguished leaders from all sectors of industry.
The new mart was inaugurated by Indian Ambassador to Qatar HE P Kumaran.
Speaking on the occasion, the envoy said, “Everyone is very excited about the pioneering initiative of getit.qa in the Qatari market and its new strategies to expand e-commerce here.”
He expressed his happiness about Indian businesses doing well in Qatar and wished them all success.
He also extolled the benefits of e-commerce for the general public.
Getit.qa Managing Director Khalid Mubarak al Kaabi said, “Today, this mart is being opened as a combination of both traditional retail business and e-commerce. Over the years, getit.qa’s platform has enabled customers to optimise their shopping experience and from our regular customer feedback, we are contented to discover that they have reduced their shopping budget.
“This mart is one of the milestones in the e-commerce sector in Qatar as it does not only caters to the residents nearby with products from all category at exclusive prices, but also serves as the fulfilment centre for our vendors. In addition to satisfying customers all over the country, our mart will be beneficial to the region adjacent to the GWC Busulba Warehousing Park for their daily shopping needs. This venture will also support in the future development of this Birkat Al Awamer area.”
He said the vision of the group is to open 10 additional outlets inclusive of fulfilment centres across Qatar by the year 2022 to reduce delivery lead-time from four hours to one to two hours.
Chief Operating Officer of GWC Rajeswar Govindan underscored the benefits of a retail mart in the area, serving the needs of the warehousing community and the tenants in the region.
Talking about his shopping experience with the getit.qa platform, he commended the group for its promptness in delivering orders.
The function was also attended by CEO of Qatar Development Bank Abdul Aziz Nasser al Khalifa, First Secretary (P&C) at the Indian embassy in Qatar Surinder Bhagat, Managing Director of Al-Wefac Al-Khaliji Trading and Contracting Mohsin al Emadi, Director of Business and Transformation at GWC Syed Maaz, President of ICBF Babu Raj, ICC President Manikandan, Chief Development Officer, AAP Group Razim Ahamed Syed and Operations Manager of AAP Group Jaffer T.K.
The inauguration ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks from the group’s Director Poulose Theppala and appreciations for top 10 customers.
