Qatar audience will enjoy a mesmerising musical evening of ghazalas renowned vocalist and composer Pooja Gaitonde takes to the stage for the first time in Doha, at a concert being organised by Doha Darbar, a music fraternity in Qatar, at Qatar National Theatre on Friday, June 21.
The concert, being organised in association with Qbiz Events which also staged AR Rahman’s concert in Doha recently, will offer a different music experience for the Doha audience with Pooja Gaitonde’s popular items.
Speaking to Qatar Tribune, Darbar Sheriff Cherandathur, an official of Doha Darbar, said: “Presenting such event that reflects the tradition of Indian and Persian music genre at a highly equipped venue like Qatar National Theatre will be a wonderful treat for music lovers in Doha.”
The concert, titled ‘Bekhudi Live’, will also feature Sufi music by a team of musicians, including noted composer and singer from the Indian film industry Veetraag and young composer and singer Ragesh.
Pooja, a gifted vocalist and composer, was trained under Ustad Munawar Masoom, Ustad Rajkumar Rizvi, SCR Bhatt, Pandit Tulsidas Borkar and other eminent Hindustani musicians.
The concert will be accompanied by Roy George on keyboard, Nikhil Ram on flute, Tanuj on drums, Sunil Kumar on tabla, Paulson on sitar and Raju George on bass guitar. Tickets will be available at www.q-tickets.com
