Our support program for bariatric patients, which was launched a year ago, now offers six months of complementary support at Al Emadi Physiotherapy Center, BMI Fitness Center and Regime Nutrition Center.
We have assembled four teams which collaborate together to aid bariatric patients in various stages of recovery after surgery and body transformation.
1. The team consists of doctors and medical staff and is led by Dr. Mohamed Al Emadi, one of the most experienced bariatric surgeons. This team has performed approximately 10,000 bariatric surgeries so far. The team also consists of an endocrinologist, a sports medicine specialist, a cardiologist and a plastic surgeon.
2. A team of nutritionists with years of experience working with bariatric patients.
3. A team of physiotherapists at the Al Emadi Physiotherapy Center works with patients in the early stages of rehabilitation. This team works to correct the deficits noted as well as the preparation for a fitness program.
4. Male and female fitness teams at the BMI Fitness Center who are trained to provide personal or group training to bariatric patients.
All bariatric patients who undergo surgery at the Al Emadi Hospital can receive
free nutrition advice and nutrition programs within the first six months of their surgery. They are also entitled to free body analysis BIA (Body Impedance Analysis) using today’s latest modern technological equipment.
Patients are also entitled to free consultations and examinations by the Sports Medicine Spec which refers bariatric patients to free physical therapy and massage sessions as well as training programs and physical activity which they go through during the first six months.
Lastly, patients can also benefit from six months of free membership at the BMI Fitness Center, which allows the patients to conduct their training every time at the BMI Fitness Center if they wish.
Support groups provide weight-loss surgery patients an opportunity to solve the issues they face after surgery. Most patients find that ongoing support helps them achieve the greatest long-term success.
Obesity impacts people both psychologically (mentally) and physiologically (body’s physical ability to function) resulting in physically restricted abilities, stopping people to be active and causing further weight gain.
Many people may also suffer due to a lack of support and knowledge -- not knowing or understanding how to change their lifestyles, how to become more active, how to effectively exercise, which exercise and diet plan to follow, safely increasing exercise resistance and duration, or how to reduce weight in a safe, effective and controlled environment for long-term success.
We are able to assess and monitor a variety of body abilities and conditions caused by chronic obesity and post-surgery abilities to ensure a smooth and optimum recovery as well as to develop the best plan to provide optimum success.
Al Emadi’s Physiotherapy Center also has a nutritional center which offers education on healthy eating as well as the option to have your meals custom-made and prepared for you depending on your needs, requirements and weight loss goals.
BMI fitness is located on the first floor with separate male and female centers for comfort.
Our facilities can be used by everyone and we also offer tailor-made aftercare packages and training programmes for our bariatric and obese patients wishing to turn their life around to start, maintain and enjoy the weight loss journey.
Our goal is to work together with our patients to ensure full satisfaction and encourage life.
