The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) held a seminar for Nepalese expatriatess on the process of obtaining visas from the Qatar visa centres abroad, with the latest one opening recently in Kathmandu, Nepal. The seminar was held at the MoCI headquarters
The centres have been established as part of Qatar’s efforts to facilitate the process of recruiting expats to the country.
Director of the Visa Support Services Department at the Ministry of Interior Major Abdullah Khalifa al Mohannadi said the centre in Nepal is one of the biggest, while the Asian country is the fifth to host Qatar visa centre.
He added that eight countries will be covered in the first phase of the project.
These centres help visitors complete their data and medical check-up procedures. It also enables them to sign contracts electronically to save time. The centres are working as per the best international standards.
The future phases will include covering other types of visas, such as family visit visas.
Director of Labour Inspection Department at the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs Mohammed Ali al Meer said the centres seek to facilitate the process of recruiting skilled labour.
