The Zakat Fund of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs provided assistance worth QR36.771 million to registered beneficiaries in May. This included assistance on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, and tuition and medical fees in accordance with the Shariah regulations.
The administration of the Zakat Fund is entrusted to collect Zakat funds and distribute it to those who meet the requirements of the Shariah regulations. The funds were distributed as follows: monthly assistance to eligible families worth QR11,941,994, one-time assistance to the needy amounting to QR3,332,656, tuition fees worth QR2,112,165 and medical fees to the tune of QR539,542.
