Qatar Academy Sidra (QAS), part of Qatar Foundation’s (QF) pre-university education, celebrated the graduation of its Class of 2019 at a ceremony at Multaqa (Education City Student Center).
The event saw 18 students honoured in the presence of Buthaina Ali al Nuaimi, president of PUE, QF, as well as QAS board members, faculty, family members and friends.
Dr Abdulla al Kaabi, chairman of the Advisory Board, QAS, wished the graduates a happy and fulfilling future.
He advised them to be kind and responsible citizens, to work hard to achieve their academic and personal potential, and to live meaningful lives in service of the wellbeing of humanity.
Dr Asmaa al Fadala, director of Research and Content Development, the World Innovation Summit for Education – a QF initiative – delivered the keynote address.
As a QAS board member and as a parent of a Grade 12 student, she congratulated the graduates on their achievements and shared some words of advice as they prepare to take the next step of their journey.
Kim Green, director of QAS, expressed her gratitude to the parents and teachers of the graduating class, reminding the students that their wings are ready to support them as they soar into their future.
This year, the graduates are headed to colleges and universities all around the world, including the USA, Canada, Hong Kong, Qatar, the UK, the Netherlands and Oman.
QAS was launched in 2012, and this year’s Class of 2019 marks the second graduating class of QAS, bringing the total number of alumni up to 21.
