Jakarta : Indonesia on Saturday ended restrictions on social media and messaging services imposed to curb fake news during unrest triggered by the loss of opposition presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto, an official said.
The government began limiting access to Facebook, WhatsApp and other platforms on Wednesday after clashes broke out between protestors supporting Prabowo and police.  Eight people were killed in two days of rioting that ended on Thursday. “All services returned to normal this afternoon,” said a spokesman for the Communication and Information Technology Ministry.
