Athens: Ten migrants have been intercepted at the start of Greece’s tourism season by airport police on the holiday islands of Santorini and Kos, officials said on Wednesday.
The migrants had been hoping to travel on to Belgium, France, Austria and Spain with fake passports, Greek police said in a statement.
In addition, 160 migrants set off from Turkey for Greece between Tuesday and early Wednesday, the Greek coastguard said. Ninety of them were detained off the coasts of Samos, Agathonisi und Farmakonisi; another 70 off Lesbos. (DPA)
