QATAR Chamber’s Board Member Ebtihaj al Ahmadani inaugurated the Merwad exhibition at the Qatar National Convention Center on Friday.
The expo, which displays products of a number of designers from Qatar and the GCC, includes 83 stalls of clothes, accessories, perfumes and women’s items for the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Manager of Vouge Event Company, the expo’s organiser Tamader al Marri and more than 70 Qatari designers from the GCC region attended the inauguration ceremony.
The five-day exhibition sponsored by Qatar Chamber offers an opportunity to learn about designs of Qatari businesswomen.
On the sidelines of the expo, Qatar Chamber and Vouge Event signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), which will see the chamber offering permanent support for the exhibition.
QC Board Member Ebtihaj al Ahmadani and the company’s manager Tamader al Marri signed the agreement.
Commenting on the signing, Ahmadani said the MoU is in line with the chamber’s support to exhibitions, businesswomen and SMEs.
She said at a press conference that Merwad expo is one of the distinguished expos, noting that the large participation of Qatari designers reflects the expo’s importance.
She underscored the chamber’s interest to support the expo, saying the chamber would expand the participation of businesswomen in the coming editions and would cooperate with Vouge Event to organise it outside Qatar.
On her part, Tamader al Marri thanked the chamber for supporting businesswomen and many exhibitions held in the country, saying, “We are lucky to sign the agreement with QC which will support the expo regularly.”
