90 DPS-MIS students return from educational trip to Russia

Ninety students of DPS-Modern Indian School have just returned from a seven- day educational cum-recreational tour to Russia accompanied by nine teachers and a tour guide from travel operators.
The school organises overseas excursions every year for meeting various objectives underpinned in the school’s learning objectives and its vision and mission.
These trips are an opportunity for the students to experience and explore the world beyond the walls of the class rooms and teach them life skills.
Russia has some of the most spectacular cities in the world. The word ‘diversity’ holds great prominence when it comes to describing Russia. Moscow, the commercial capital, and St. Petersburg, the cultural capital, with innumerable heritage sites, palaces, art museums and magnificent churches are known for their grandeur and rich culture.
St. Basil’s Cathedral, Kazan Cathedral, The Iberian Gate, Kremlin Wall, Statue of Minin and Pozharsky, The Heritage museum, The Church of the Spilt Blood, Nevsky Prospekt, The Catherine Palace, and the statue of the most celebrated Russian poet Alexander Pushkinetc with their historical and cultural appeal provided the students a glimpse into the lives of Tsars and helped them understand Russia’s history.
A visit to Cosmonautics Museum inspired the budding cosmonauts and made them explore the fascinating space-related exhibits.
The students visited the most celebrated Russian circus, enthralling cable car, Observation Deck Panorama 360, river water cruise, luxury fashion malls and majestic nature parks.
Talking about the educational trip, Principal Asna Nafees said such trips help children become more responsible and independent, and equip them with valuable life skills.
The parents thanked the school for providing a platform to the students to enrich themselves and added that they are looking forward to such trip in the years to come.
