The Government Communications Office (GCO) has emphasised the keenness of Qatar on bonding of societies and people in different countries and its constant endeavour to deepen bonds of love and the rejection of hatred among people. “The position of Qatar has always been clear that people should not be involved in the differences that arise between nations,” the GCO said in a statement on Sunday. “Our country will continue to draw its strength from the cohesion of our people and societies.”
In response to the statements circulating during the past few days, the GCO said the Ministry of the Interior (MoI) of Qatar (the Department of Expatriates Affairs) is the only entity authorized to issue entry visas of various types, according to the approval of the competent authorities and in accordance with the laws governing this. He said any remarks made out of those legal frameworks do not represent the policy of the Ministry of Interior. It said Qatar welcomes people from all over the world, and that various activities between people, whether cultural, sports, tourism, economic and others, are among the means of bringing people together regardless of differences between countries.
