THE Emir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani and President of Argentina, Mauricio Macri, held a session of official talks at the Quinta De Olivos Presidential Palace on Thursday night.
The session reviewed bilateral relations and means of boosting and developing them on all fronts, particularly in the fields of economy and investment, so as to enhance the level of cooperation between the two friendly countries.
Additionally, the session touched on developments in the Middle East and the international arena as the two sides exchanged views on them.
After the session, HH the Emir and the Argentinian president witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in the legal field between Qatar's Ministry of Justice and the Argentina's Ministry of Justice and Human Rights; an MoU on mutual cooperation in diplomatic training between the Diplomatic Institute at the State of Qatar's Foreign Ministry and the National Foreign Service Institute in Argentina's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship; and an MoU on holding political consultations between Qatar's Foreign Ministry and Argentina's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship.
Members of the official delegation attended the session and the signing ceremony, while several ministers were present from the Argentinian side. An official welcome ceremony was held for HH the Emir upon his arrival at the presidential palace.
HH the Emir also attended a dinner banquet hosted by the president of Argentina in honour of HH the Emir and the official accompanying delegation. HH the Emir thanked the president for the invitation and the hospitality, wishing further boost to relations. Juliana Awada, wife of the president, and several ministers attended the banquet from the Argentinian side.
HH the Emir has concluded a two-day official visit to Argentina.
