TOP Tanzanian artiste Diamond Platnumz will be performing at the InterContinental Doha The City on Friday. Platnumz, who is popular not only in East Africa, but the entire continent, will be performing in Qatar for the first time.
Bearing in mind that he is considered one of the most celebrated artistes in East and Central Africa, the event is expected to attract a large number of fans from these regions.
Platnumz, whose real name is Nasibu Abdul Juma, is a Bongo Flava recording artiste, dancer and entertainer.
Other locally based artistes to perform at the show include DJ Rex Tetra from Uganda, DJ Muse (Ethiopia) and DJ Preddy (Nigeria).
The event is organised by Afro Wood Lounge Bar and Prezo World Around.
Taking to Qatar Tribune, Fredrick, one of the organisers said that the event is expected to draw over 2,000 fans. “Diamond Platnumz is very popular in Africa. Therefore, we expect participants from Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania and Uganda, among other countries. We also expect audience from other continents.”
He said that a troupe of dancers will accompany the artiste to Qatar.
According to the organiser, “When he sings, he dances and since he is also an entertainer, he brings a lot of energy on the stage.”
His latest hit, ‘Tetema’ is expected to be the highlight of the show.
Fredrick further said, “It is an honour to bring such a renowned artiste. Ever since Diamond Platnumz sent a teaser that he would be coming to Qatar, we have received a lot of positive feedback from his fans who are looking forward to his show.”
