Speaker of the Shura Council HE Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al Mahmoud, who is also the president of 140th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), met separately with President of the Consultative Council of Oman Sheikh Khalid bin Hilal al Maawali, Speaker of the National Assembly of Kuwait Marzouq bin Ali al Ghanim and Chairwoman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan on the sidelines of the 140th IPU Assembly currently underway in Doha.
During the meetings, they discussed the existing parliamentary relations between Qatar and each of the countries and the ways to boost them. The meeting also reviewed topics on the assembly agenda.
The Shura speaker also met with Speaker of the Consultative Assembly of Iran Ali Larijani on the sidelines of the 140th IPU Assembly currently being held in Doha.
During the meeting, they discussed the existing parliamentary relations between Qatar and Iran and the ways to develop them.
The meeting was attended by Head of the Qatari-Iranian parliamentary friendship committee Rashid bin Hamad al Meadadi, Ambassador of Iran to Qatar HE Mohamed Ali Sobhani and a number of Shura Council members. (QNA)
