Powering ahead with its extensive expansion plans in Qatar, French retail giant Monoprix would soon open four more outlets at prime locations in the country, the hypermarket brand’s regional head has said.
“After the success of our outlets in West Bay and Doha Festival City, we are all set to open outlets at The Pearl- Qatar, Msheireb Downtown Doha, Lusail City and Al Saad soon,” Monoprix Regional General Manager Sebastien Farhat told Qatar Tribune.
While the Monoprix stores in The Pearl- Qatar and the Msheireb Downtown Doha would open this year, Farhat said, Lusail City and Al Saad branches would open later.
Farhat also revealed that the Lusail City branch would be the largest Monoprix outlet in the world, with a total area of more than 9,000 square metres.
The Monoprix outlet in Doha Festival City, which is spread across its 7,000 sqm location, currently has the distinction of being the largest Monoprix outlet in the world.
Once all these branches are open, Farhat said, the total number of Monoprix outlets in Qatar would reach six.
The outlet in Al Saad would be a smaller version of Monoprix, Farhat said, adding that more of such smaller branches would be opened in different parts of Qatar.
“We have taken the concept of hypermarkets in Doha to a new level. Both our stores in operation currently are doing very good business. We see a lot of business opportunities for smaller versions of Monoprix in various residential areas of Qatar. We are doing our feasibility study to zero in on such areas in the country,” he said.
“Ali Bin Ali Group, which owns Monoprix franchise in the country, wants the people of Qatar to experience the extraordinary world of Monoprix and enjoy every bit of it,” he said.
