All set for IPU meet: Mahmoud Apr 05, 2019 0 1996 12345 QNADohaShura Council Speaker HE Ahmed bin Abdulla bin Zaid al Mahmoud welcomed the president and members of the Executive Committee of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) who met in Doha on Thursday in preparation for the assembly, which will kick off on Saturday.Mahmoud said the Shura Council has made all necessary arrangements for the success of the IPU assembly and meetings that can strengthen democracy and sustainable development.The Shura Council speaker said he is ready to cooperate and provide all the requirements to make the assembly and meetings a grand success. Mahmoud said he wants to make the Doha meet a milestone in the IPU history.He expressed hope that the participants would have a chance to learn about Qatar’s heritage, the generosity of its people and to acquaint themselves with the renaissance witnessed by Qatar in all fields, thanks to the wise policies of the Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani. The meeting was attended by IPU President and Head of the Executive Committee Gabriela Cuevas Barron and IPU Secretary-General Martin Chungong.
