Al Jazeera Academy is celebrating its successful accreditation by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) visiting team.
The Western Association of Schools and Colleges is a prestigious international organisation which has provided a vehicle to move school community members into a cycle of continuous school improvement.
This achievement is the culmination of three years of hard work by all staff during which the Academy has conducted a thorough self-evaluation and then devised a follow- up action plan.
The WASC team praised the quality of education in the Academy.
The Review Team led by Co-Chairs Dr Barry Groves and Nancy Brownell complimented the Academy on the school wide strengths and the positive culture of the Academy.
Dr Barry Groves is President of the WASC organisation who is working with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education to support schools across Qatar on their improvement journeys.
The main focus of the review is on student learning.
The accreditation is for the whole academy across KG, Primary and Secondary Schools in Al Jazeera Academy.
Principal of Al Jazeera Academy Sheldon Smith praised the hard work of all the staff.
He said, “This is a benchmark of quality and has given us the confidence to build on our strengths. We aspire to excellence. WASC has been the most effective evaluation process I have ever been involved in.”
Dr Mohammed Saefan, director of Education, said: “This success underlines the cohesion of Al Jazeera staff and students and the growing collaborative strength of Ta’allum Academies working with the academies to raise standards.”
Ahmed al Mannai said, “This is a great achievement for Al Jazeera Academy and the whole Ta’allum Group. I salute their hard work and skill. We are proud for the moment but we are now driven to continue our forward momentum.”
