THE Ministry of Culture and Sports’ (MCS) Wijdan Center organised on Wednesday a lecture for the students of Ahmed Bin Mohammed
Military College.
Director of the centre Dr Jassim Sultan gave the lecture, which focused on various aspects of life such as human values and the value of work among other topics.
He stressed that the perspectives of individuals change once they decide to play a role in the development of their society. He highlighted the ministry’s eight perspectives, derived from its vision of building an aware and healthy society to contribute to the realisation of Qatar National Vision 2030.
His talk focused primarily on the values of human life. He discussed challenges posed to it throughout history citing examples of slavery, torture of prisoners, exploitation of workers and racism.
He also stressed the value of knowledge and science, saying that pursuing those two is the guarantee for a society’s and an economy’s advancement. He added that lack of awareness of scientific and technological developments will make any country less competitive.
