Earliest Islamic site in Qatar unearthed

Qatar Museums and UCL Qatar have unearthed the earliest Islamic period site in Qatar and one of the earliest in the region, in a monumental discovery in the northwest of the country. The settlement dates to the later Sassanian period, between 538 and 670 CE.
