THE Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs organised the fourth meeting of the Qatar-Philippines joint committee set up in the bilateral agreement on regulating the employment of Filipino workers in Qatar. The meeting concluded in Doha on Wednesday.
The meeting was chaired by Assistant Undersecretary for Labour Affairs Mohammed Hassan al Obaidli, while the Philippines delegation was headed by Undersecretary of the Department of Labour and Employment Claro Arellano.
They discussed labour relations between the two countries and the development of procedures for Filipino workers’ recruitment in Qatar and joint cooperation in programmes and projects to enhance the protection of workers.
During a field visit to the headquarters of the labour dispute settlement committees at the ministry, the Philippines delegation praised the procedures and mechanisms used in the work of the committees.
