Pakistan Week’ held at Entertainment World Village recently was a big hit with Pakistani families, especially with the children who thoroughly enjoyed fun-filled activities spread over a week.
The opening ceremony was graced by Sheikh Suhim bin Khalid bin Hamad al Thani, Mohammed Hussain al Ali, Pakistan Embassy Community Welfare Attache Hafiz Junaid Amir Sial, Mohammad Idrees Anwar, Rashid Rafique Butt, Israr Malazai, Chaudhary Mohammad Ajmal, Riyaz Bakali, Rana Anwar Ali and other prominent members of
Pakistani community.
Held days after the triumph of Qatar in AFC Asian Cup 2019, the organisers of the event also cut a cake to mark the emergence of Team Qatar as the Asian football champions.
The week-long event featured a host of fun-filled activities for families. While children spent their time enjoying high-speed rides, their mothers relished a perfect shopping experience buying costumes on special discounts.
The event was an initiative of Pakistan Business Forum with active participation of Pakistani educational institutions, socio-cultural forums and restaurants. The objective of the event was to provide healthy outdoor activities to the community members, taking advantage of the pleasant weather, as well as promoting Pakistani culture and products. Children presented tableaus highlighting Pakistan’s rich culture and heritage.
While the entry to the event was free, a 50 percent discount was available to Pakistani nationals on the tickets for all the rides.
A special Pakistani pavilion showcasing Pakistani products, handicrafts, apparels, jewellery and footwear were set up.
Different restaurants specialising in Pakistani cuisines offered mouth-watering dishes at their stalls located near the enchanting beach.
