Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has contributed to alleviating the suffering of the Syrian refugees in Lebanon by providing the necessary heating fuel to cope with the cold wave, providing children with winter dresses and extending urgent assistance to more than 390 families and 800 Syrian children.
In a statement on Monday, the QRCS said the aid was delivered through a relief convoy to support the Syrian camps within its warm winter projects in Lebanon, in coordination with the union of relief and development associations.
The aid covered the town of Arsal and the camps of Rahman, Basma and Jasmine, with the aim of improving the living conditions of Syrian refugees and alleviating the economic crisis they suffer as well as supporting them with basic living necessities.
Mayor of Arsal Bassel al Hujairi said Arsal is witnessing a series of successive visits from the benevolent Qatari people to alleviate the suffering of those in need.
Executive Director of Relief and International Development Dr Mohamed Salah praised the efforts of Arsal Municipality and its fruitful cooperation to assist the refugees.
He stressed that the relief of the refugee is a duty adding that the QRCS team was there to help the refugees.
