The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani met HM Emperor Akihito of Japan at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo on Wednesday.
During the meeting, they reviewed close relations between the two countries as well as a number of issues of mutual interest.
The Amir also met HH Crown Prince of Japan Naruhito at HH’s residence in Tokyo. They discussed relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries and means of their development.
After a two-day state visit to Japan, the Amir left Tokyo for China.
The Amir was seen off upon departure from Tokyo International Airport (Haneda) by Secretary-General of the Japan-Qatar Parliamentary Friendship Association Tadahiko Ito, Ambassador of Qatar to Japan HE Hassan bin Mohamed Rafei al Emadi, Ambassador of Japan to Qatar HE Seiichi Otsuka, and members of the Qatari embassy in Tokyo.
The Amir sent a message to HM Emperor Akihito of Japan and Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe, thanking them for the warm welcome His Highness and the accompanying delegation received during the visit, which provided an opportunity to exchange views with ranking Japanese officials on a number of topics of joint interest that will contribute to enhance partnership and cooperation ties between the two countries to the benefit the two peoples. The Amir also wished the Emperor and the Prime Minister best of health and happiness, and further progress and prosperity to the people of Japan.
