Tribune News Network Doha In the wake of some commercial complexes reducing the number of licensed parking spaces for use in other activities, the Central Municipal Council (CMC) has recommended a review of the parking lots by specialists from the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) to ensure that there are exactly the same numbers of parking lots as mentioned in certificate of construction issued by the authority. The CMC also recommended that the owners of commercial complexes who have reduced the number of parking lots to restore the original numbers mentioned in the certificate. The recommendations came after CMC Vice-Chairman Engineer Hamad bin Lahdan al Mohannadi raised the issue at the council after it was noticed that such a practice led to traffic congestion in areas surrounding these commercial complexes.
