DOHA Foreign institutions bought Qatari equities worth $2.5 billion on a net basis in 2018, QNB Financial Services (QNBFS) has said in its latest weekly report. According to yearly data released by Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE), foreign investors accounted for 53.71 percent of the total buy witnessed by the exchange in 2018. Providing further details, the QSE data showed that foreign institutional investors accounted for 44.38 percent of the total buy, while foreign individual investors accounted for 9.33 percent of the total buy. The year saw foreign investors buy more than Qatari investors as the local investors accounted for 46.28 percent of the total buy. While Qatari individual investors accounted for 30.17 percent of the total buy, Qatari institutional investors accounted for 16.11 percent.
