The Lawyers Admission Committee at a meeting chaired by Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs HE Dr Issa bin Saad al Jafali al Nuaimi on Saturday reviewed the Cabinet Decision No (20) for the year 2018 on raising the monthly bonus of lawyers under training from QR6,000 to QR10,000 during the compulsory training course.
The Committee, in the light of Article 20 of the Law, and in accordance with the rules established set by the Cabinet, decided to continue the payment of the remuneration throughout the two-year training period, which is complemented by in a Qatari law firm.
On raising the monthly bonus for lawyers under training, the minister said the increment comes within the framework of the government’s encouragement for the citizens to engage in the law profession, support for the national cadres, especially the lawyers, provide suitable conditions for Qatari lawyers to complete the training programmes to ensure the optimum preparation of Qatari lawyers.
He added that the Ministry of Justice and the Lawyers Admission Committee would work to provide the needed facilities to qualify Qatari lawyers, in compliance with the directives of the wise leadership in qualifying national cadres to realise the Qatar National Vision 2030.
He said the Ministry of Justice seeks to provide the appropriate environment for the new Qatari lawyers and to provide the legal profession with national cadres who constitute a qualitative addition.
On his part, Chairman of the Qatar Bar Association Rashed Nasser al Nuaimi, who is a member of the Lawyers Admission Committee, praised the step, which reflects the keenness of the Cabinet and of minister to encourage Qatari lawyers to attend the courses, which are a prerequisite for entering the legal profession.
At the meeting, four new lawyers were also sworn in before the Committee while admission and transfer applications of more lawyers were examined and decision was made thereon.
The meeting reviewed the minutes of the meetings of the subcommittees, adopted the recommendations of the minutes of the subcommittee for non-Qatari lawyers and the subcommittee on complaints and considered notes on certain legal opinions relating to the work of the Committee.
