DPS- Modern Indian School recently celebrated the 18th Annual Day themed ‘Vivartana - the present contains the past’ with gusto, grandeur and grace.
The cultural extravaganza highlighted the importance of values and culture in the ever-transforming digital era.
The event was graced by Chief Guest, Group CEO of Doha Bank Qatar Dr R Seetharaman, President DPS-MIS Hassan Chougule, Vice-President Yasir Nainar, esteemed board of directors members, principals of various Indian schools, parents and other eminent guests.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Asna Nafees said DPS-MIS believes in empowering the children with all round excellence.
“The school sets benchmarks, inspires its students and gives life opportunities to widen their horizons and unlock the doors of success. Through the Annual Day 2018, Vivartana- the present contains the past’, the students have tried to put forth a very relevant message that values and culture inherited from the enriching past pave the way for a reassuring future,” she said.
Chougule welcomed the guests and inspired the young minds with his words
of wisdom.
He introduced the Chief Guest Dr Seetharaman as a man of great calibre, credentials and intellectual banker with a gentle heart.
He also appreciated Dr Seetharaman’s contribution to the society.
On his part, Dr Seetharaman congratulated the school for choosing such an appropriate theme and underscored the importance of principle-centric values and right attitude to attain complete success.
“It is necessary that human beings remain connected to the value system imbibed in them by their forefathers and leave behind a rich legacy for the generations to follow,” he said.
The whiz-kids were awarded with trophies and certificates for their extraordinary all round performance (Class X & XII), excellence in academics (Gulf Toppers- X) and other national and international accomplishments in the year 2017-18.
Teaching and the non-teaching staff who have completed 15 or 10 eventful years in the school were awarded with a memento for their dedication and sincerity. Special recognition was given to the Qatar National School Accreditation (QNSA) school team for their role in the successful accreditation by QNSA.
About 600 young artistes from the junior and senior wings of DPS-MIS portrayed the underlying idea behind the theme through various enthralling dance forms, enchanting music and captivating skits.
