It was a spectacular evening filled with fun and educational activities for kids with engaging performances by students of The Next Generation School (TNG) thrown in for good measure. The occasion was celebration of Qatar National Day Educational Fiesta 2018 which saw enthusiastic participation by TNG students. The Next Generation School organised the event on its Abu Hamour campus.
The setting for the Educational Fiesta was impressive. Conceived and artistically designed by students of TNG, the backdrop created a buzz among those present. Pakistan Embassy’s Defence Attaché Commodore Irfan Taj was the guest of honour.
The fiesta began with a workshop on ‘first aid’ and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) organised by Qatar Red Crescent. This was an educational experience for all the visitors as it gave them key points about saving a life in danger and taught them how to effectively manage an emergency.
This was followed by an inspiring presentation of various patriotic songs highlighting national solidarity and social cohesion. To express their love for Qatar, the visitors were dressed in Qatar national attire.
Kulluna, Ministry of Interior, Community Policing and Drug Enforcement Department had put up stalls during the event to spread awareness about their work. Many other organisations such as Tebyan Education Services displayed virtual reality activity for children to participate in. SFQ Sports Academy, British Council, Molecular Education and STEM Explorer were major attractions for the visitors. Many food stalls set up on the occasion served ethnic cuisines from different communities representing their respective culinary culture and traditions. There were also stalls selling local and traditional dresses as well as jewellery.
Many visitors donated blood at a blood donation camp set up exclusively for the event.
