Kuwait dominated the trap event, while Oman ruled in the 50m rifle 3 positions and 25m centre fire pistol at the 10th Arab Shooting Championship at the Losail Ranges on Thursday. Kuwait, led by Asian champion Abdulrahman al Faihan, bagged the men’s trap gold, beating Qatar. Faihan also claimed the individual title, his teammate Khaled al Mudhaf won the silver medal, while Qatar’s Rashid Hamad al Athba was third. Kuwait’s Sarah Alhawal clinched a golden double. She helped her team emerge the champion and went on to bag the individual crown later as well. Oman’s Salyem beat Abdullah Alharbi to win the gold medal in the 50m men’s rifle 3 positions, while his teammates Zahra al Balushi and Siham al Hasani battled in the women’s event, with the former pocketing the crown by three points.
