Dr Ikhlaq Sidhu, a member of the Board of Trustees at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), has received the 2018 Major Education Innovation Award for his role in driving innovation in education from Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the world's largest and most reputable association for engineering, computing, and technology professionals.
The award was granted to him for his role as a faculty director and a chief scientist at Berkeley's Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology at the University of California.
The award recognises contributions in educational entrepreneurship and the championing of innovative teaching methods. In his role as a member of the Board of Trustees at HBKU, Dr Sidhu advocates educational advancement and supports the university's commitment to promoting a fully integrated and multidisciplinary learning environment.
