COLLEGE of the North Atlantic - Qatar (CNA-Q) recently received a 10-year international re-accreditation for the eleven programmes that make up its School of Business Studies.
The certification was granted by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). The ACBSP is the leading specialised accreditation association for business education worldwide, supporting, celebrating and rewarding teaching excellence.
The accrediting body visited the CNA-Q campus recently to review the quality of instruction, curriculum, evaluation methods, student services and learning resources. Successful re-accreditation certifies that CNA-Q meets all key indicators to prepare students for successful careers in Qatar's business sector by providing quality technical education.
"The programmes of the School of Business Studies are designed to meet the needs of industry by providing certified job ready employees to the workforce. In addition, our students graduate with an academic foundation that allows them to achieve their full potential through further education. This international accreditation opens doors for our graduates to receive advanced standing at a multitude of universities worldwide," said David King, dean of School of Business Studies.
The School of Business Studies is CNA-Q's largest faculty with over 650 currently enrolled students. The school offers certificate and diploma programmes in Accounting, Human Resource Management, Marketing, Banking and Office Administration.
The school was first accredited by ACBSP in 2006, and since that time, more than 1,400 graduates have received credentials with this international stamp of approval to help them progress in their careers.
The accreditor held roundtable sessions with faculty, current students, alumni and industry representatives. The accreditor was particularly impressed with the school's linkage to the business community evident during a luncheon hosted by Doha Bank and attended by key industry representatives. The accreditor noted that positive feedback from industry as well as the alumni of the school is a testament to the quality and value of the CNA-Q business programmes.
The accreditor also made note of CNA-Q's qualified faculty who are deeply committed to student success, the focus on small class sizes and the exceptional hands-on learning evidenced by numerous business competitions and industry guest lectures.
As Qatar's premier technical college, there are over 30 certificate and diploma programmes offered at CNA-Q across the four schools of study Information Technology, Engineering Technology, Health Sciences and Business Studies.
