The Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC) has announced the recall of Sony Vaio laptop batteries VGP-BPS26 due to overheating in battery models SVE1413 and SVE1513 Series, which were sold with a battery problem. The models - VPCCB14/3/2/ Series, SVE14113/2/ Series, SVE14A13/2/ Series, SVE15123/ Series, VPCEH12/ Series, SVE17123/ Series and VPCEJ12/ Series which had battery problems during maintenance, have also been recalled.
The recall is part of the ministry's efforts to ensure the dealers follow up on defects and repair them. The ministry has urged consumers to report any abuses or irregularities to the Department of Consumer Protection and Commercial Fraud Combat.
