Airfares to many destinations to skyrocket at peak season

Airfares to London, the top destination for Qataris during summer holidays, will also more than double from the current QR2,900 to around QR6,000 during the peak season.
Istanbul, another sought-after destination for Qatari nationals, will see fares climbing to QR2,300 from QR1030 from the start of the summer season.
With Germany, Vienna and New York emerging as other favourite destinations for Qataris during summer, the sources said, airfares to these places will also increase in the range of 50 to 100 percent.
Ticket fare to Thailand, which attracts a lot of youngsters from Qatar, is also expected to reach QR5,000 from QR2,450.
Paris, once a favourite holiday destination for Qataris, is not much in demand this year.
"There are a very few bookings and enquires for Paris this year. As the demand is not rising, we do not see a rise in ticket prices," an official of Cozmo Travel said.
